I have to say, Burnout Paradise wouldn’t make my top ten because the actual races, which compose the majority of events, are extremely irritating.

In order to win the race you have to follow a good path through the city, but even the helpful signals they give you are often confusing because there are three possible right turns and all it says is “turn right.” Also, you’re going five hundred billion miles an hour and it’s very difficult to even see that a road exists before it’s upon you. It’s so easy to take a wrong turn, so easy to get confused and turned around, that I don’t even play most of the races anymore.

I’m going to pick up the previous one, Burnout: Revenge, because it’s cheap, and it’s also on a fixed track so the races will actually be fun. Plus there is two-player split screen racing, which is lamentably absent from Paradise, and a decent crash mode.
